Admission to QAG, GoMA and APT5 is free, excluding selected Cinémathèque screenings. The Australian Cinémathèque will have separate late opening hours when evening screenings are scheduled.

'The 5th Asia–Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ (APT5) will be presented across both Queensland Art Gallery sites — the original Queensland Art Gallery building and the new Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA). The buildings are located within 150 metres of each other, and are close to the city centre and South Bank Parklands.

GETTING TO QAG + GoMA

The Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) and the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) are located within easy walking distance of each other (150m apart), with entrances to both on Stanley Place. They are part of the Cultural Centre precinct, close to the city centre and South Bank Parklands. Please see the notes below regarding getting to the buildings.

QAG and GoMA are approximately 10 minutes walk from the city centre over Victoria Bridge.

Parking is available at the Gallery/Museum carpark. Other nearby parking options include the Queensland Performing Arts Centre Carpark, Stanley Place Carpark, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre Carpark, and the South Bank Parklands Underground Carpark. Temporary vehicle set-down is available on Stanley Place, from Grey Street (both directions), Montague Road, the Cultural Centre Underpass (not including buses), and Peel Street.

Road closures may occasionally disrupt traffic around the Gallery. For information, telephone South Bank Visitor Information Centre on (07) 3867 2051.

Taxi set-down is available in Stanley Place, from Grey Street (both directions) and the Cultural Centre Tunnel. A Yellow Cab taxi phone is located in the foyers of both QAG and GoMA.

Bus, train and CityCat stops are all within easy walking distance of the Gallery. Alight from the bus at the Cultural Centre Busway, from the train at South Brisbane Station, and from the CityCat at South Bank 1 terminal. For further public transport information visit trans info or call 131230.

Mobility impaired and wheelchair access is available to both buildings. QAG wheelchair access is via the lift on the upper level of the Art Gallery carpark, via ramps at the front entrance from Melbourne Street, or via the street level entrance on Stanley Place, which is located between both buildings. GoMA wheelchair access is via the street level entrance on Stanley Place or via the lift from the Stanley Place carpark.

FOR INTERSTATE AND INTERNATIONAL VISITORS

Approximately 25 minutes drive from the Brisbane Airport, the two Queensland Art Gallery sites are located opposite Brisbane’s central business district on the south bank of the Brisbane River. Tourism Queensland has helpful information on transportation, accommodation, attractions and activities for visitors.
