The below tours link with the themes presented in the APT5 Education Resource Kit.
Each tour includes a brochure and teacher notes, which outline curriculum points and discussion questions for your visit. Teachers can make multiple copies of the tour brochure for their students and bring these along on the day.
Once you have selected an APT5 school tour, contact the Gallery to arrange a visit. Bookings are essential for all groups of 10 students or more.

APT is the only major series of exhibitions in the world to focus exclusively on the contemporary art of Asia and the Pacific, including Australia. This tour will focus on a number of works in APT5 as well as selected works from the Gallery’s Collection that have featured in previous APT exhibitions.

This tour will consider the ways artists can encourage viewers to think about some of the major issues that affect us, such as history and the environment.

This tour will focus on the ‘New Nasubi Gallery’ developed by Japanese artist Tsuyoshi Ozawa for APT5. The Nasubi Galleries created by more than 25 APT artists encourage students to think about issues related to the presentation of contemporary art, and provide a means for exploring the artists’ other works in APT5.

Many APT5 artists remind us that there are numerous versions of history and ways to understand the relationships between the people, places and events that have shaped the contemporary world. This tour will explore artists’ use of traditional stories to demonstrate strong and enduring connections with place and people, past and present.

This tour encourages students to think about the way film and video are displayed within an exhibition context The tour will prompt students to think about the relationship between moving image and other visual arts of the Asia–Pacific region.
