A Message from the Premier and Arts Minister

The Queensland Art Gallery’s Asia–Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art is one of Australia’s foremost cultural events and an opportunity to showcase Queensland’s impressive creative and innovative talents.

With this unique exhibition attracting more than half a million visitors since its inception in 1993, the ‘5th Asia–Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ (APT5) is an excellent choice to commemorate the opening of our new Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA).

The addition of GoMA greatly enhances the international profile of the Queensland Government’s Cultural Centre at South Bank, featuring the original Queensland Art Gallery, the state-of-the-art State Library of Queensland, the Queensland Museum and Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

APT5 will be presented in both the stunning new GoMA and the refurbished Queensland Art Gallery and it promises to be an immensely stimulating and captivating experience for Queenslanders and visitors from all walks of life.

As APT5 takes pride of place in Brisbane, we invite you to experience the exhibition and all that this exciting Cultural Centre has to offer.

Premier of Queensland
